Children need love and support more than anyone, to grow into good and balanced adults. It seems like such a simple recipe, yet childhood can become so winky wonky these days. Even though children are adaptable and accommodating when it comes to change, things can seem impassable. 20 years ago parents were more present in their children’s lives with the time they shared brought presence and peace of mind for children.
Today, even though parents may be present physically, children and parents alike, are on devices, and can be quite remote even when sitting right next to each other. The only way to change this current day phenomenon, is to readily identify that it is occurring in the first place. More than ever, children experience anxiety. There are many factors inducing this, such as distant parenting, poor diets, lack of exercise, high density living, technology addiction, evoking poor communication and social skills and a lack of resourcefulness to problem solve.
A big contributor is relationships, or lack there of, during early childhood. Once we recognise the undesired distance within relationships, then it simply comes down to prioritising and choices. Children have very little control over their own lives, and their carers are responsible for the environment in which a child is living, eating and experiencing. A child’s whole life is about change. Crawling, standing, walking, and running. They learn to talk and then to communicate. Communication is often misinterpreted and misconstrued by little people, and I see my unique ability to help them to re-decipher their assumptions and misunderstandings of positive influence an honor.
The satisfaction I feel when the children return to my clinic bright eyed with amazement and pride for their change that we have been working on, is the fundamental premise of why I do, what I do. It is the absolute best thing for me to share with them. They are so proud of themselves and enthusiastic about their new found power and confidence. Building rapport is the most important element for working with children. I relate very easily with tinlids and find it fun to create methods for them to change and redirect their perspectives and kind hearts. They say the most profound statements and are often beautifully funny and honest. It a joy to partake in the process. The parents learn a lot about their children as they divulge their deepest innermost working of their minds with me. It positive all round.
High 5’s and big smiles go a long way in my rooms when we hit the jackpot of success.
Paediatric Clinical Hypnotherapy is a rare profession, and there are but a handful in Australia who specialise in such a challenging, yet rewarding role. I have constantly advanced my knowledge and professional development in this key area. The world depends on balanced little people to rule our world into the future.
To effect change in such a young life and knowing they will use the skills I have taught them for the rest of their long lives, is epic. I often see them in years to come when they are older and it’s a pleasure to see their maturity and confidence. Their internal and external physical growth is radiantly evident.
Paediatric Clinical Hypnotherapy facilitated by me, is a healthy, natural and efficient way to effect positive change in little people with big hearts.
